In this rather bloody Hans Christen Andersen fairy tale by the same name, a woman is cursed by her vanity in opting to wear red shoes to church instead of black, and then later to go dancing in her red shoes instead of attending church. Once she begins dancing however, she is unable to stop... even when she has a huntsman chop of her feet with an axe they continue to dance without her.
This design features shimmering blood red plumes of pigment swirling around delicate white hydrangea blossoms and red-white crystal grass flowers (meant to represent the soft and floaty costumes worn by dancers). Finished in a matte black ink.
